Hi, I'm Hannah!
I believe that everyone has a set of strengths they can draw from when they are experiencing hardship. Oftentimes, however, an individual might not be able to tap into those strengths because the problem they are facing seems too overwhelming. As a counselor, my goal is to help you discover those strengths, develop them, and put them into action so you can cope with life’s various complications. I will work with you to collaborate on the best way to achieve your goals while taking into consideration areas such as meaning making, helpful and unhelpful thought processes, behavioral actions and consequences, and, perhaps most importantly, how your past experiences impact your present situation.
My approach to therapy is focused on the whole person, taking into consideration things like your relationships, lifestyle, and beliefs/religion. Because of this, I utilize an eclectic assortment of modalities depending on your needs, including EMDR, CBT, humanistic, mindfulness, solution-focused, and person-centered. I specialize in working with individuals who struggle with anxiety and mood disorders, ADHD, women with Autism, PTSD/trauma, LGBTQ+, grief and loss, and religious trauma/faith deconstruction.
I graduated with a BA in psychology from Wayne State University in 2018 (Summa Cum Laude), and with an MA in clinical mental health counseling from Oakland University in 2021. I currently hold full licensure as an LPC.
